Vasa Park Midsummer Celebration
In June, there will be a celebration of Midsummer at beautiful VASA Park in Elgin, Illinois. $5/adult and children free. 2pm till 10+ Maypole raising at 2pm, followed by folkdance parade in native costumes. Ethnic foods available for purchase, or bring your own picnic lunch. Event ends with Bonfire at 10pm. Activities for the children, nature walks, children's Scandinavian performances by Nordikids and other Children's clubs, and Meatballs prepared by Nordik Folk Lodge.

Event location: Take Illinois Rt. 31 North from St. Charles, Illinois. Follow the Fox River north towards Elgin, Illinois.....Vasa park is on the right (East) side of the road just north of the quarry.

Chellberg Farm/Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
This wonderful taste of a true Scandinavian Midsummer is created in the woods of the Chellberg homestead. Signs on I-80/94 in Chesterton, Indiana lead the way to the homestead site. There will be authentic Swedish music with fiddle and accordian. Dancing around the Maypole, children singing and dancing. Entrance is free. Bring a picnic and come enjoy the day. Nordikids will take part in the performance and all are welcome.
